info Dictionary accompanying the TuniCo corpus. The dictionary was not only built on data from the corpus of spoken language that was compiled in the same project, but also on a range of additional sources: data elicited from complementary interviews with young Tunisians and lexical material taken from various published historical sources dating from the middle of the 20th century and earlier.

info The TuniCo project was aimed at getting a clearer picture of the current linguistic situation of Tunis. Methodologically, it was situated at the crossroads of variational linguistics and language technology, combining dialectological approaches with up-to-date text technological methodologies. The data and tools developed and tested in the project were meant to be beneficial for a wide range of research questions both in the field of Arabic linguistics but also beyond.

info VICAV is an international endeavour aiming at the collection of digital language resources documenting varieties of spoken Arabic. While in principle being open to any type of text, we currently focus on bibliographical data, on so-called language profiles, standardised feature lists and lexical data.
VICAV has a strong methodological component focusing on the development of digital data and tools. A large part of these efforts is concentrated on modelling data and providing documentation for developmental and pedagogical purposes. VICAV is strongly committed to the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI). We provide a detailed documentation of our lexical data.
VICAV has been started as a co-operation between the Department of Oriental Studies of the University of Vienna and the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ACDH-OeAW). The institutional frame of the project is defined by a repository for digital research data, a University and a national Academy, all of which is meant to ensure long-term availability of both data and the web-interface.
