"This working group discussion is part of a European student conference on the future of English in Europe. This particular event involves seven European students preparing the presentation of a future linguistic scenario of Europe which reconciles the ideas of unity and multilingualism. The discussion takes place in a large dining hall where other groups are also convening at the same time. Consequently, there is a lot of background noise and parallel conversations. Within the group, nobody is particularly dominant and there is no chairperson. Generally, a friendly atmosphere prevails. S7 and S8 are the organizers and chairs of the larger event this working group is part of. They sometimes interrupt the discussion to enquire about the participants' working progress."@en .
