    n1:hasDescription "This workshop discussion is part of a European student conference on the future of English in Europe and focuses on the identification of trends and different scenarios concerning the future of English in Europe. The discussion is based on essays that the participants had to prepare and submit prior to the speech event and in which they sketched extreme scenarios for the future of English in Europe. First two new participants, S4 and S7, introduce themselves. Then several participants present their future scenarios, on the basis of which participants try to agree on two variables, i.e. axes, along which they want to create four different future scenarios. In the end, participants agree on 'unity versus diversity' for one axis, and 'English-only versus multilingualism' for the other. The speech event is chaired by S1 and S3, the local organizers of the student conference. There are several parallel conversations throughout the speech event and also a lot of other noises in the background, which are, however, only transcribed if judged relevant to the interaction."@en;
